Exercising and playing sports was never a part of my story while growing up. I was pretty timid as a young person, and this steered me away from organized sports. Instead, I grew up focusing most of my time on music - teaching myself different instruments, playing in jazz bands, and playing in a rock band with my friends. Music is still a huge part of my life. I started doing Crossfit when I was 30 years old. After the widespread quarantining that took place during COVID in 2020 and 2021, I wanted to find a space where I could move my body. I landed at Tiltshift by a recommendation of a friend, with zero experience and zero expectations. In just 3 years I’ve experienced so much growth. With that being said, my general posture is that of being a lifelong learner. I love coaching, and I also love being coached.
I think I’m at a bit of a turning point in my life at the time of me writing this (October 2025). I’ve always been my toughest critic in everything I do - academics, work, music, CrossFit, etc. - but I’ve recently been leaning into what it means to, instead, be my biggest fan - to actually start believing in my capacity to do things that I never thought I’d be able to do. This feels like a significant pivot.
My favorite part of coaching is having the opportunity to encourage others to go beyond what they originally thought was possible for themselves. I’ve experienced this firsthand through coaching that I’ve received, and I consider it a huge privilege to (hopefully) be able to do this for others.
